Mmm... Food — Some of my favorites restaurants in South Brooklyn from Brooklyn Heights to Gowanus.

Seersucker

Southern food done brooklyn style, this is my go to near my apartment, the lemberger, the biscuit box, the fried chicken, the pork chop, the salted brownie...yep.

Battersby

Get the spontaneous tasting menu don't go crazy 5 courses will do, this was one of the best overall tasting menus I have ever had. I never knew what they kept going on about on Top Chef regarding texture, now I understand.

River Deli

Deli turned italian restaurant on my old block. It doesnt get much better than this for consistent simple italian food, get the papardelle and the chocolate mousse

Rucola

A vegetable-focused restaurant in a Boerum Hill brownstone-cum-Piedmontese farmhouse.

Brucie

This casual Italian restaurant turned gourmet grocery store is sure to give visitors to Carroll Gardens plenty of reasons to return.

Buttermilk Channel

A homey American restaurant, heavy on comfort foods like grassfed-beef and buttermilk fried chicken.

Littleneck

As the name may or may not suggest, Littleneck specializes in raw-bar selections, especially clams.

Colonie

An elegant, seasonally driven spot with an appealingly loose menu format.

Hibino

Hibino means 'daily' in Japanese and this restaurant aspires to become a quotidian habit by offering comfort food like fresh tofu, served in small glass jars; chunks of short rib braised in sweet soy sauce; and succulent eggplant.

Lucali

Accidental pizzaiolo Mark Iacono opens a Carroll Gardens pizzeria as a labor of love.

Calexico

Both the Calexico truck and its brick-and-mortar location serve taqueria fare with a cool, casual Californian vibe.

Pok Pok NY

Andy Ricker's full sit-down northern Thai restaurant, Pok Pok Ny, seems poised to rock the city's Thai-food scene, with specialties not found elsewhere in the five boroughs.
